Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is seeking driven and ambitious planners, who really want to reinterpret the ideals of the Garden City for the 21stcentury.  As part of this vision for the future, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Planning Projects Officer.

In this role, you’ll be a key member of the implementation team in the delivery of a number of high-profile projects. This will include the master-planning of strategic sites being brought forward through a new Local Plan and the delivery of infrastructure including a strategic Green Corridor. You’ll also prepare funding bids and finalise the CIL charging schedule, as well as help to deliver regeneration of the town and neighbourhood centres. You’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in an exciting scope of projects and to really develop your planning portfolio.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a relevant degree and previous experience of working on major development projects. You will be a creative thinker, and have good communication, project management, negotiation and analytical skills. Whilst you’ll have some experience in regeneration, master-planning and CIL, what we’re really looking for is someone with a positive approach to finding solutions and a commitment to delivering outstanding results. We need team players, people who’ll be help achieve our goals together.
